<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate high resolution information with excellent image quality by interpolating one pixel with low resolution and deciding a pixel value based on a difference between image information after the interpolation and a prescribed value. SOLUTION: Low resolution information is fed to a line buffer 101, in which window processing in the unit of pixels is executed. A maximum value and a minimum value are detected (102) from image information in a window and a median (a) is calculated (104) by them and a contrast (c) is calculated (106). Furthermore, linear interpolation (103) is applied to the image information in the window around a noted pixel. Then a difference (b) between the interpolation information and the median (a) is calculated (105) in a noted pixel block. Then a LUT 107 provides a prescribed value based on the contrast (c) and the difference (b) and the median (a) and the prescribed value are added (108) and the result is outputted.</p> |
