PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor power converter which is free of sizing up and besides in which high regeneration efficiency of snubber power can be gotten. SOLUTION: A power converter, which has main circuit arms 1UU-1WD and regeneration circuits, is so constituted as to suppress voltage ripple by connecting the filter circuits 3UU, 3VU, and 3WU of the upper arms with the filter circuits 3UD, 3VD, and 3WO of the lower arms in series separately for each phase, and then, connecting them to the sections between the terminals on DC side through the respective reactor devices 4U, 4V, and 4W. As a result, enough filter function can be given without increasing the capacitance of a capacitor for smoothing, or increasing the resistance value of a series resistor, so the regeneration efficiency of snubber power can be raised enough, and space saving can be made enough, and the sharp reduction of the regeneration power loss can be made. |
