PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the machine translation system which effectively uses existing dictionary registration information to constitute a user dictionary of high precision at the time of newly registering dictionary registration information in the user dictionary. SOLUTION: When an entry word to be newly registered already exists in the user dictionary, it is judged whether both dictionary information coincide with each other or not (S400); and if they don't coincide with each other (S400:N) both dictionary registration information are displayed on a display part (S420 and S430). If editing is necessary, the mode is switched to the individual editing mode to perform editing (S440:Y and S445), and it is judged whether both translations coincide with each other or not (S450); and if they don't coincide with each other (S450:N), the translation of one non-preferential dictionary registration information is stored in the another translation field of the other preferential dictionary registration information (S460), and dictionary registration information where another translation is stored after this editing is finally registered in the user dictionary. |
