<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense an optimum time for tasting instant noodles or rice which is served after hot water is poured in and left for a predetermined time by attaching to instant food, a chemical time indicator comprising a combination of radical generator and a coloring matter and/or a coloring matter precursor which changes in color by reacting with radicals. SOLUTION: Organic peroxide substances, azo compounds and halogenated carbon compounds may be used as radial generator. Benzoilperoxide as the organic peroxide, azoaryl compounds as azo compounds and polyhalogen compounds such as carbon tetrabromide may be used as halogenated carbon compounds. Preferably 2.0 to 15.0wt.% of the generator is blended to a medium for forming a carrier to obtain a time indicating material. As a coloring matter and/or precursor taking a color, matters containing phenothiazine or phenoxazine may be used. Phenothiazine changes from green to red, while phenoxazine changes from colorless to yellow ocher.</p> |
