The container has a body of thermoplastics resin with, at its end opposite to the stopper (5), a flat area (6) formed by the heat welding of the tube for closure at that end. The flat area has a cut out (7) to allow hooking of tubes to the bar (8) of a merchandising display. The tube (1) has a security closure formed by a tongue (10) adhered on the neck opening (7) of the tube an placed in position prior to fitting of the stopper. The flat area can be trimmed to remove irregularities in the surface due to heat welding.
