摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of an insertion operation by supplying an optical fiber while admitting pressurized fluid into the pipe from one end thereof and inserting the optical fiber into the pipe by the friction force of the fluid exerted to the optical fiber and a differential pressure. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 7 is let off from an optical fiber supply spool 58 and the front end part thereof is positioned in the inlet of the pipe 1 or is previously inserted to some length into the pipe 1. An aperture 43 of a hermetic vessel 42 is closed by a cap 44, etc., and the pressurized fluid is supplied to the vessel 42. The pressurized fluid is supplied from the vessel 42 to one end of the pipe 1. The pressurized fluid supplied to the pipe 1 flows from one end of the pipe 1 to the other end. Said fluid flows through the spacing between the inside wall surface of the pipe 1 and the outer peripheral face of the optical fiber 7 in the part where the optical fiber 7 exists in the pipe 1. Conveyance force is applied to the optical fiber 7 by the friction force between the pressurized fluid flowing in the pipe 1 and the outer peripheral face of the optical fiber 7 and the differential pressure of the fluid generated before and after the waving of the meandering optical fiber 7. The efficiency of the insertion work is thereby improved.
