PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer simplifying work for preventing the drying of ink and capable of sufficiently preventing the drying of ink. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer has a carriage unit supported so as to be freely moved along a main shaft, the ink cassette 11 housed in the carriage unit and having a nozzle part 13 and selectively taking a first position enabling the insertion and detachment to the carriage unit and a second position enabling printing and the arm 15 arranged to the ink cassette 11 in a freely shakable manner and having the cap 14 selectively covering the nozzle part provided to the leading end thereof. The carriage unit rotates the arm 15 when the ink cassette 11 is placed at the second position and has a means opening the nozzle part 13. |
