PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having an excellent liquid leakage preventive property to prevent liquid leakage from flanks. SOLUTION: This absorbent article has a top sheet 2, a back sheet 3 and an absorber 4 and is formed substantially longitudinally long. This top sheet 2 consists of a sheet material which is hydrophobic on one surface 2a and is hydrophilic on the other surface 2b. The top sheet is so disposed that the one surface 2a exists on the side of the surface in contact with the skin and that the other surface 2b exists on the absorber 4 side. The back sheet 3 is disposed on both right and left sides of the surfaces of the absorbent article from side edges 1a toward the inner side, by which a pair of hydrophobic regions A are formed. These hydrophobic regions A have continuous sealing parts 10 formed by sealing the top sheet 2 and the back sheet 3 along the inner edges A' of the hydrophobic regions. A body fluid holding part 20 formed by bending the top sheet 2 in such a manner that the other surface 2b exists on the inner side is disposed on the outer side of the sealing parts 10 and on the front surface side of the absorbent article. |
