The invention provides a process for producing 5'-guanylic acid (GMP) by using a Brevibacterium aminogenes which produces 5'-xanthic acid (XMP) and has XMP aminase converting XMP into GMP. Baker' yeast which has a well developed ATP reproduction system is added to increase the efficiency of the conversion. The concentration of baker' yeast is 0.01-0.1% (W/V).
