Applicator for simultaneous treatment of gynaecological tumours

Brachytherapy and hyperthemy are carried out at the same time, partic. for treatment of gynaecological tumours, using an applicator including a first tubular part (2), contg. a radioactive source and having a resistance element (4) on the outside for heat duration, and a second tubular part (7), closed at one end. The resistance element is of material with good thermal conductivity and adequate transparency to radiation. Electrical contacts (6) are formed on its end faces (5). The first and / or second tubular parts are pref. of stainless steel or PMMA or a medical plastic. The heating element may be a hollow cylinder, which is segmented in azimuthal direction.
