PREPARATION PROCESS OF ASPARTAME BY REDUCTION USING PALADIUM CATALYST

摘要

N-benzyloxycarbonyl group which is protecting group of N-benzyloxy carbonyl- M-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester can be removed by catalytic reduction of palladium catalyst. Said catalytic reduction is carried out in mixture of water and methanol, at 55 to 65 degree Celsius, at the pressure of 35 to 60 psi and at pH5.4 to 4.4. APM is dissolved in mixture of water and methanol, maintained at pH 5.4 to 6.5 using 45% of sodium hydroxide.
