COATED PAPER FOR PRINTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a coated paper for printing, exhibiting excellent printing gloss and water-absorbing build-up property in offset printing and giving excellently finished print. SOLUTION: This coated paper for printing is produced by coating a base paper with a water-based coating composition composed mainly of a pigment and an adhesive, drying the applied composition and subjecting the product to calender-finishing. The water-based coating composition contains >=60wt.% (based on the total pigment) of kaolin having an average particle diameter of 0.5-1.0μm and containing >=95wt.% of particles having diameter of <=4μm and further contains 2-20wt.% (based on the total pigment) of satin white.
