PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in high yield an N-alkylpyrazole as a raw material for e.g. agrochemicals, from an inexpensive N-nonsubstituted pyrazole derivative under mild reaction conditions without giving byproducts such as salts which has been a problem in conventional methods. SOLUTION: The objective N-alkylpyrazole derivative of formula III is obtained by reaction between a compound of formula I (R<1> , R<2> and R<3> are each H, a 1-20C alkyl, etc.) and a compound of formula II (R is a 1-20C alkyl; Q is H, a 1-20C alkyl or COOR) in the presence of crystalline aluminosilicate or crystalline aluminophosphate as catalyst. The catalyst presents especially high activity when it has pores 0.7-1.0nm in size and solid acidity. |
