PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject molding material excellent in appearance, moldable using a conventional apparatus for unsaturated polyesters because of being moldable at lower pressures. SOLUTION: This molding material comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a partially crosslinked gel-like polymer produced by partial polymerization of a blend composed of (a) a resin stock selected from an alkyl methacrylate monomer,α,β-ethylenic unsaturated monomer mixture predominant in alkyl methacrylate(s) and a group of syrups containing respective polymers of the above monomer and monomer mixture and (b) 3-50 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the resin stock (a), of a crosslinking agent to effect increase of polymer content by 4-65wt.% as compared to the polymer content of the above blend within such a range as not to exceed 80wt.% in the whole polymer content, (B) 0-400 pts.wt. of a syrup containing polymer of an alkyl methacrylate monomer or anα,β-ethylenic unsaturated monomer mixture predominant in alkyl methacrylate(s), and (C) 30-200 pts.wt. of an inorganic filter. In this case, straight-chain polymer accounts for 30-60wt.% of the total of the components A and B.
