PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the cleaning of the inside of the hole of an optical connector by inserting the front end of a cleaning implement into the hole of the optical connector and ejecting fluid from the front end of the cleaning implement. SOLUTION: The cleaning implement 12 of the optical connector has a nozzle part 14 disposed at the front end of a tubular body 13 for supplying the fluid. This nozzle part 14 is formed to the diameter smaller than the bore of the hole 15 of a ferrule fitting cylindrical part 5 of the receptacle 2 of the optical connector in such a manner that the nozzle part is easily inserted into the hole 15. The front end of the nozzle part 14 is provided with a fluid blow-off port 16 for blowing off the fluid. The nozzle part 14 at the front end of the cleaning implement 12 is inserted into the hole 15 of the ferrule fitting cylindrical part 5 of the receptacle 2 of the optical connector and the optical connector hole 15 is cleaned by ejecting the fluid, such as air, from the fluid blow-off port 16 of the nozzle part 14. As a result, even the deep part of the hole 15 of the optical connector, the inside of the groove opening into the hole 15, etc., are easily cleaned.
