FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of colophony, polyhydric alcohol and disproportioning agent at heating. Interaction is carried out in the presence of resol alkylphenolformaldehyde resin (2-6% of the parent colophony mass). Sulfur-containing alkylphenolformaldehyde resin "Octofor S" (0.05-0.50% of colopholy and resin) is used as disproportioning and clearing agent. Polyhydric alcohol is used at amount 10.1-10.8% of the parent colophony mass. Interaction can be carried out in the presence of phosphoric acid. EFFECT: increased softening point of colophony esters.
