PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a surface state in a wide visual-field range in respective parts of an object by using the small number of visual devices and to inspect the surface state with high accuracy and in a short time by a simple apparatus on the basis of detected input image information in an image input apparatus and an inspection method using it. SOLUTION: An integrated air conditioner 2 as an object is conveyed by a conveyor 11, and the integrated air conditioner 2 which is being conveyed is grasped visually by two or more cameras 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, etc. The position in the conveyance direction of the integrated air conditioner 2 is detected by position sensors 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51. Thereby, when attention is paid to one camera, image information is transmitted not by taking the photograph of a point but by taking the photograph of a line as the aggregate of points. As a result, the time in which the object flows is utilized effectively by the small number of cameras, and the wide range of the object can be taken into a visual field. In addition, since the outward appearance of the object which is being conveyed can be detected, an inspection process can be performed in a short time and by a simple apparatus. |
