Bulkhead to protect buildings against flooding

The bulkhead protects buildings from flooding, and is made from wall elements (12) whose side edges (14) can be sealed against one another using connecting elements (22). The underside of the bulkhead has a sealing element (64). The inner side (28) of the wall, which faces away from the water, has an abutment pillar element (32) in the region of the side walls of adjacent wall elements, and is linked rigidly to the latter using the connecting elements. Bracing equipment (68) extends away from each pillar element towards the inside of the wall. Each wall element may have profiled side edges which are angled so that similarly formed elements may be linked together into a wall.
