Backflow prevention device for waste water systems

The device is for water flowing in a channel in an open shaft. A closure cap (43) is located pivoted above the opening (31) of the waste water pipe (3) on the intake side into the shaft (7). The cap pivots about a first pivot arm (39). It is connected via a direction changeover drive (47) to a float (45), which is fastened to a second pivot arm (41). The closure cap is hinged to the shaft wall (21) or to a baseplate (25) on the wall. The baseplate has a lower aperture (29), located concentrically to opening of the waste water intake pipe. A pipe socket (33) with sloping end (35) is fastened to opening.
