The proposal is for a seal for a sensor component (27) of a gas sensor (10), especially for determining the oxygen content in the exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. The seal consists of a sealing arrangement (35) of at least two sealing components (36, 37, 38) inserted in a longitudinal drilling (15) in a housing (12), in which one sealing component (36, 38) consists of steatite and the other (37) of hexagonal boron nitride.
