The water sprinkler is used for putting out fires and is esp. for use with heavy foam formed by a mixture of water and a foaming agent. The strainer (6) can be concave-curved towards the sprinkler nozzle (14), the maximum diameter of the holes in it being between 2 and 15 mm. The spray plate (4) can also be concave-curved towards the nozzle. Openings can be provided in the plate, and it and the strainer can be held apart by a central and coaxial distance-piece.
