A combustion system is disclosed. When the test switch(550) is pressed, the mode control circuit(55) converts the operation mode of a fan heater from a normal operation mode to a test mode. During the test mode, when the gas switch(551), a proportional valve switch(552), or the fan Lo/Hi switches(553,554) are pressed, the test mode is converted to a Lo/Hi side extinction determination level adjusting and writing mode, a proportional valve current adjusting and writing mode, or a Lo/Hi side current adjusting and writing mode. Thus, incorrect adjustment data is prevented from being stored in a semiconductor non-volatile memory.
