摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit high torque with high rigidity without reducing flexibility. SOLUTION: Both ends of a core wire 12 of a flexible shaft 10 abut against holders 14, 16. A first wire 18 is spirally through a fine gap S wound around the core wire 12. A winding angleθof the first wire 18 to the axis P of the core wire 12 is about±90 deg.. An inner winding wire 20 as a second wire is wound spirally around the first wire 18. An outer winding wire 22 as a third wire is spirally wound around the inner winding wire 20. Both ends of the inner and outer winding wires 20, 22 are fixed to holders 14, 16. The reaction to the tension of the inner winding wire 20 can be dispersed through the holder 14 to the axial force of the core wire 12 and a force of the inner winding wire 20 for fastening the first wire 18.
