The roller shutter is composed of parts which are pivoted together by a male beading portion(6) fitting into female longitudinal groove portions (8). Each are constituted by two hollow rigid plastics trapezoidal sections whose large base (9) constitutes the section front. The sections are joined by flexible plastics joints (14). The front faces of the assembled sections (1,2,3,4,5) constituting an element are butt-jointed to form a continuous surface. The joints in the shape of cords are placed flat under the rear surface edge zones of the front faces. This ensures connection between sections without being accessible from the front of the shutter. The angle of opening (beta ) of each trapezium is a function of the minimum radius of curvature of the shutter rounded guide zones such that the lower corners of the trapeziums are brought to a maximum without meeting.
