PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve irregularity in colors or decrease in flatness which deteriorate the display quality of a color liquid crystal display device by laminating a color photosensitive resin film of a second or succeeding colors in the parallel direction to the stripe pixels preliminarily formed. SOLUTION: A color filter is produced by successively forming a light- shielding layer and color pixels of three colors on a transparent substrate. In this method, a color photosensitive resin film of the second or succeeding colors is laminated in the parallel direction to the stripe pixels which are already formed on the transparent substrate. Namely, when the film of the second or succeeding colors is to be laminated, the film is laminated in the parallel direction to the stripe pixels already formed on the substrate glass so as to reduce the width of recesses and projections of the pixels. If the film is laminated in the perpendicular direction, the roll moves over the pixels already formed and this reduces uniform distribution of the film thickness in the pixel. By laminating parallel to the pixel direction already formed, flow of the film from the adjacent pixels is made uniform and the pressure is made uniform to reduce steps in the pixel. |
