PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a compsn. contg. an oxide solid soln. having an excellent adsorption characteristic of an average secondary particle size of a specific value or below, etc., by dispersing and pulverizing the oxide solid soln. obtd. by heating of hydrotalcites in a nonaq. solvent. SOLUTION: The (M<2+> , M<3+> )O oxide solid soln. is obtd. by heating the hydrotalictes expressed by formula (M<2+> is bivalent metal ions, such as Mg<2+> , Mn<2+> , Fe<2+> , Co<2+> , Ni<2+> , Cu<2+> and Zn<2+> ; M<3+> is tervalent metal ions, such as Al<3+> , Fe<3+> , Cr<3+> , Co<3+> , In<3+> ; A<n-> is n-valent anions, such as OH<-> , F<-> , Cl<-> , NO3 <-> , SO4 <2-> , CO3 <2-> Fe(CN6 )<3-> , CH3 COO<-> , oxalate ion and salicylate ion; 0<=x<=0.33). This solid soln, is then dispersed and pulverized in the nonaq. soln. (e.g.; methyl alcohol), by which the compsn. consisting of the (M<2+> , M<3+> )O oxide solid soln. having the average secondary particle size of <=1μm and the nonaq. soln. is obtd. This compsn. is useful as an acid receiving agent, stabilizer, etc.
