PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a balance between the running cost and the image quality by providing a means for switching/setting a dot thinning out ratio in plural stages. SOLUTION: A thinning out clock generating part 5b outputs thinning out clocks ECNCK1 to ECNCK3 which are synchronized with a picture element clock PLCK and have different patterns. A selector 5c selects/outputs a thinning out clock ECNCK in accordance with a saving mode selecting signal MODSEL inputted from an I/O port 3. The thinning out clock ECNCK and serial picture data PLDAT are inputted to an AND circuit 5d. The serial picture data PLDAT has dot thinned-out processing at the dot thinning out ratio corresponding to the set mode, to be outputted from the output terminal C of the AND circuit 5d. The serial picture data PLDAT after dots are thinned out, inputted to the data input terminal D of a D flip flop 5g is outputted from the output terminal Q of the D flip flop 5g, to be transmitted to a recording part. |
