摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of an active matrix type having TFTs capable of improving display characteristics by decreasing light leakage current with a simple structure and simple production process for forming the same. SOLUTION: Light shielding layers 10 formed of a-Si having a large refractive index are formed on blocking layers 5, by which the light arriving at the a-Si of channel regions is decreased. As a result, the light leakage current is suppressed and the deterioration of display characteristics is suppressed.
