A steering-wheel assembly for a vehicle, comprises a wheel 1 screwed at 2 to an axially but not laterally deformable stepped frustoconical member 3 secured by a hub 4 and nut to steering shaft 5, the member 3 comprising two or more sections 3a, 3b having different wall thicknesses if there are two sections or alternating larger and smaller thicknesses if there are more than two sections. A ring or sleeve 7 is welded to the section 3a to create a larger wall thickness. The height of section (3a) of larger wall thickness is equal to or greater than that of section (3b) of smaller wall thickness. A padded plate 8 is screwed at 2 to the wheel 1 and the member 3. |
