PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition excellent in transparency, impact resistance, heat sealability and blocking resistance, suitable as a constituent material for a sheet, a container, etc., giving only slight elution of resin components into a content in the container. SOLUTION: This polyethylene composition comprises (A) 98-20wt.% of an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer satisfying the following items (1) to (4) [(a) 0.86-0.96g/cm<3> density, (2) 0.01-200g/10 minutes melt flow rate(MFR), (3) 1.5-4.5 molecular weight distribution and (4) an amount X (wt.%) soluble in o- dichlorobenzene at 25 deg.C, the density (d) and the MFR satisfying the following relation, (a) when d-0.08logMFR>=0.93, X<2.0, (b) when d-0.08logMFR<0.93, X<9.8×10<3>×(0.9300-d+0.008logMFR)<2> +2.0] and (B) 2-80wt.% of another ethylene-based polymer.
