Enrichment and separation of carbon@ from ashes of incinerator - with grain size reduced, ashes dried and sieved, magnetically freed from free iron@, and sieved fractions are placed on conveyor belt running over permanently magnetised roller

After reducing the grain size to below 15 mm. the ashes are dried and then sieved to divide them into smaller grain fractions. After magnetic separation of free iron the sieved fractions are placed on a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt runs over a permanently magnetised roller and the predominantly carbon-rich non-magnetisable portions falling near to the roller are separated from the predominantly magnetisable portions containing iron oxide falling under the roller. The magnetic pre-separation of the free iron simultaneously effects a premagnetisation of the iron oxide.
