Sludge treatment assembly ruptures cellular walls of bacteria and protozoa - improves de-watering process, speeds fermentation process, reduces vol. of sludge for disposal and speeds anaerobic water treatment

An assembly which thickens sludge from a waste water process incorporates >= 1 centrifuge (4). The novelty is that the centrifuge incorporates >= 1 lysis assembly which rupture the cell walls of the organisms in the sludge. Also claimed is that the centrifuge (4): (a) incorporates esp. a helical conveyer (6) which delivers sludge to an outlet (9), and/or (b) incorporates a rotating mantle (7), and/or (c) is a jet centrifuge or a jet separator. The mantle (7) rotates at approx. 3000 rpm and conveyer (6) turns at approx. 3010 rpm. The lysis assemblies can operate by means of friction (100; 200) using grinding disks (161, 162), with a grinding cone, a profiled friction unit, a roller squeeze assembly, a drum or rotating cutters.
