FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely steel casting molds for bottom and top casting of killed and rimming steel to open-bottom ingot molds, possibly for steel melting and steel casting shops. SUBSTANCE: steel casting open-bottom ingot mold has walls with variable thickness and variable concavity degree. In order to provide heat storage capability of walls allowing to produce rigid and strength ingot skin, inner surface of each wall is restricted by three planes in the form of figure whose projection near lower end is in the form of isosceles triangle, in zone of half of wall height-in the form of isosceles trapezium passing near upper end to one plane. Height values of triangle and trapezium respectively consists 0.15-0.20, 0.075-0.10 of thickness of wall; plane joining radius consists 0.2- 0.3 of wall width. EFFECT: improved design. |
