PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of crack in a line area of a plate along the tip edge of the welding surface of a lead conductor and the plate, and to prevent the promotion of the crack, or to reduce the generation of crack by forming the tip edge of the lead conductor to be welded to the plate into a waved-shape with combination of recessed dies and projecting dies. SOLUTION: A negative plate 3 is welded to a lead conductor 4, and a positive plate 9 is welded to a lead conductor 5. The lead conductor 4 is formed of a connection part 4a and a lead part 4b, and the upper end of the lead part 4b is welded to a negative terminal 6, and the lower edge is formed into the waved-shape by combining recessed parts and projecting parts, and welded to the negative plate 3. Relation between the lead conductor 5 and the positive plate 9 is similar with the relation between the lead conductor 4 and the negative plate 3. When a lid 11 is installed in a battery jar 1, an electrode assembly 2 is pushed, and the plates 3, 9 abut on the bottom of the jar so as to bend both the lead conductors 4, 5, and the stress F is generated in a line area 31. Since the lower edge 41 is formed with the waved-shape of recessed parts and projecting parts, the connection part 4a reduces the stress so as to prevent the generation of crack and the promotion thereof of the plate. |
