PURPOSE: To provide a thermal storage tank capable of effectively measuring the density of latent heat thermal storage material in the tank and effectively controlling based on the measurement of the density at the time of using in the tank utilizing the latent heat generated upon phase change of the latent heat thermal storage material. CONSTITUTION: This thermal storage tank utilizes latent heat generated upon phase change of a latent heat thermal storage material, and comprises a stirrer 5 for agitating the material 2, a density detector 3 for the material 2 and a controller 4 for controlling the stirrer 5 for agitating according to the output signal of the detector 3.
