PURPOSE: To obtain a sealing compd. compsn. for a film liq. crystal cell which compsn. has not only excellent moisture resistance, liq. crystal resistance, electric strength properties and orientation resistance, but also such a flexibility as to follow the flexibility of a film. CONSTITUTION: This sealing compd. compsn. comprising epoxy resins, an epoxy resin-curing agent and other components for use in liq. crystal cell assembly comprises as the indispensable components (a) 10-50 pts.wt. bifunctional silicone- modified epoxy resin liq. at room temp., (b) 90-50 pts.wt. bisphenol epoxy resin liq. at room temp. as the epoxy resin component and (c) 20-80 pts.wt. trifunctional thiol compd. liq. at room temp. as the epoxy resin-curing agent, and as the other components, (d) 0.5-5.0 pts.wt. silane coupling agent, (e) 1-10 pts.wt. amorphous silica of at most 1μm in average particle size, and (f) 5-50 pts.wt. inorg. filler of at most 2μm in average particle size other than amorphous silica. |
