FIELD: decorative minerals. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to up-grading minerals, in particular, those of colorless modifications of semitransparent precious serpentinite and also to improving color of serpentinite with pale grey-green coloration. Invention consists in that material is exposed to gamma-irradiation in a dose within the range 10-3•10Gray. EFFECT: simplified procedure yielding minerals fit to be used in jewelry and stone-cutting industry.
