EVAPORATOR AND REFRIGERATION MACHINE

An evaporator (12) is provided with a heat transfer tube (15) functioning as a flow path for a heating object, and also with a demister (18) for separating refrigerant passing therethrough into gas and liquid.  The refrigerant evaporated and vaporized by heat exchange by the heat transfer tube (15) is separated into gas and liquid by the demister (18) and discharged to the outside from a refrigerant gas discharge opening (21).  Among the regions in which the demister (18) is mounted, the region through which the refrigerant can pass is called an opening of the demister (18).  The evaporator is provided with a closing section (26) which, near the refrigerant gas discharge opening (21), closes the opening of the demister (18), and the opening of the demister (18) is divided into regions having different opening areas with the closing section (26) as the boundary.  A partition section for dividing, on the upstream side of the demister, adjacent regions of the opening is also provided.
