PURPOSE: To provide a CCD having small spurious radiation with desired transfer characteristics. CONSTITUTION: Clock pulsesϕa ,ϕb output from drivers 31, 32 are delayed by predetermined times by the capacities of resistance means r1 to ri of resistance means 41a, 41b and the transfer gates 11-1, 12-1, 13-1, 14-1..., of stages, and sequentially applied from the initial stage of the transfer gate means toward the stage of the center. On the other hand, the pulsesϕa ,ϕb output from the drivers 31, 32 are delayed by predetermined times by the capacities of resistance means 41 to ri of resistance means groups 42a, 42b and the transfer gates 11-n, 12-n, 13-n, 14-n,... of the stages, and sequentially applied from the final stage of the transfer gate group toward the stage of the center. Thus, the signal charges Q of the transfer gate group are sequentially transferred from the initial stage toward the final stage.
