PURPOSE: To provide a good restraining performance at an initial stage of an emergency and to effectively reduce the damage which a passenger suffers from the load of a webbing acting on the passenger. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a pre-tensioner 3 and an energy absorbing mechanism 7 which absorbs kinetic energy acting on a passenger to reduce load acting on the passenger by plastically deforming or breaking a member for controlling the pulling-out of a webbing 20 when tension acting on a webbing 20 reaches a standard value after the pre-tensioner 3 is worked. |
