PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means, simple and effective in cost, of retarding the blood flow through a supporting portion or a catheter hub as a part of a medical device such as a venous catheter. SOLUTION: A constitution of a catheter comprises a movable hollow needle 2 having a sharp edge moving between a position to be stuck to a patient and a position where the needle is mounted in a housing 10 of the catheter by extending the edge 4 from the end of the catheter. The catheter and the catheter hub 26 together form the catheter constitution held by a catheter hub supporting portion. The catheter hub supporting portion 20 is integrally formed and comprises gaskets 30 and 32. The gasket 30 wipes the out side of the needle when the needle 2 is retracted into a position for holding the needle in the housing from the patient. The function of the gasket 32 is of benefit to retard the blood flow between the catheter hub 26 and the catheter hub supporting portion 20. |
