PURPOSE: To provide a shock absorbing steering GEAR that can transmit torque to make steering possible at the time of any stroke and easily increase/decrease shock absorbing stroke. CONSTITUTION: Shafts 43, 44 stroked at the time of external force acting so as to absorb shock are composed of a plurality of coupling shafts 43a1-43an, 44a1-44an, and a plurality of connecting pieces 43b1-43bn, 44b1-44bn having function of connecting an end part of respective coupling shafts and connected in the torque transmittable state at the time of being jointed to one another. When compressive force of the specified value or more acts axially upon the shafts 43, 44, connection of respective connecting pieces is released in regular order from one end side so as to joint the respective connecting pieces in regular order and to separate the respective coupling shafts in regular order from one end side. |
