摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal recording material being compatible for both light resistance and fixing properties by providing an optical transmittance regulating layer reducing the specific % of optical transmittance in a wavelength region to be photofixed to specific % after fixing in the material having a photofixing type thermal recording layer and a protective layer provided on a support. CONSTITUTION: In the thermal recording material comprising a photofixing type thermal recording layer and a protective layer provided on a support, an optical transmittance regulating layer having optical transmittance of 65% or more at 360nm of a wavelength to be photofixed and reducing the optical transmittance to 25% or less at 360nm after fixing is provided. The regulating layer contains a component functioned as the precursor of ultraviolet absorbent. Since the regulating layer does not function as the absorbent before emitting the light having the wavelength of the region necessary to be fixed, the transmittance is high. When a photofixing type thermal recording layer is fixed, the wavelength is sufficiently transmitted, and the fixing of the thermal recording layer can be conducted without fail. Such an optical transmittance regulating layer is desirably formed between the photofixing type thermal recording layer and the protective layer, and the regulating layer may be used also as the protective layer.
