PURPOSE: To obtain a bath medicine composition which is excellent in antimicrobial action on the alkaline side and in amelioration of itching and dry skin. CONSTITUTION: This bath medicine composition contains herbs having antimicrobial properties or their extracts in an amount of 0.01-100ppm based on the bath water calculated as the essence, and contains an alkaline agent in an amount of 0.5-150ppm based on the bath water, moisturizing agent formulated to give this composition. The antimicrobial herbs are herbs showing antimicrobial effect against bacteria, fungi or the like and selected from the group of Magnoliae cortex, sage, Caryophylli Flos, Eriobotryae Folium, Artemisiae Capillaris Herba, Houttuniae Herba, Atractylodis Lanceae Rhizoma, thyme, Capsici Fructus, Lithospermi Radix and Juniperus communis. The alkaline agent means an inorganic salt that can adjust the 0.01wt.% aqueous solution of the bath medicine composition to 7-9 in pH, when it is formulated to the composition, and selected from sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium sesquicarbonate and sodium metasilicate. When necessary, oil components, inorganic salts, organic acids, surfactants, vitamins, protease and the like are appropriately formulated to give this bath medicine composition in the forms of powder, granule, tablet or solution. |
