The dispenser comprises a vertical tubular pipe which has a support base (9) and a first cut-out (6) in the base section (7). The cut-out has a height and width which is equal to or greater than the dimensions of a night-light candle. The candles can be stacked on each other along the longitudinal axis of the pipe. The pipe comprises a second cut-out section (8) which shows how full the dispenser is. The upper edge of the pipe is inclined w.r.t. the longitudinal axis of the pipe at an angle between 20 and 45 degrees, esp. 30 degrees. A lid-shaped insert (10) is mountable on the upper opening (2) of the pipe.
