The device has an optical information distributor (1). This has at least one light inlet point and several light outlet points. These are arranged such that they can simultaneously receive light components (L) which are irradiated from at least one light inlet point. Several information receivers or light detectors (14) are arranged opposite the light outlet points of the information distributor (1). Each of the light detectors (14) is part of an individual control module in a modular arrangement. Preferably, each light detector (14) is in operative connection with a microprocessor (13) of the same control module, via a shift register (15) with a serial input and a parallel output.
