3-Phenyl oxindole derivs. of formula (I), and salts,solvates and hydrates of (I), are new: R = H, OH or F; R1-R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl, halo, CF3, phenyl, p or p-trifluoromethylphenyl; or R1+R2,R2+R3 or R3+R4 = a fused; R5 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R6 = Cl or CF3.
