The holder consists of a lens retainer and a fastener for mounting on a support rail for numerous holders, e.g. in a cleaning implement. The top part of the fastener, away from the support rail, is parabolic, thus presenting a streamlined cross-sectional surface. Pref. the top section of the fastener has a central depression in its longitudinally axial extension, forming a lower support for the retained spectacle lens. The retainer may be in two clamping parts on the sides, each forming lateral support for the lens retaining shape.
