A cleaning tool (9) is inserted into the inflow pipe (5) and or the pipe (15) belonging to an electric instantaneous water heater. The cleaning tool has a round brush (12) moved by a manual control (10) on the outside of the tool. Either pipe (5,15) is sealed against the outside beneath the cleaning tool inserted into the machine. The control, in the top of the inflow pipe, and the brush are joined by a flexible shaft (11). The brush has a flexible core holding steel bristles.
