PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is free from the wear and damage of the photoreceptor and has high durability and with which bright images of always high densities are stably obtainable, and an electrophotographic device and device unit using the electrophotographic photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer on a conductive base 1. The extreme surface layer 5 of the photoreceptor is the photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer contains inorg. particles of Mohs hardness of >=5 and thermosetting resin. The volume average mol.wt. of the inorg. particles is 0.05 to 2.0μm. The inorg. particles are silica particles of which heat absorption energy change rateΔH of a differential thermal analysis at 40 to 200 deg.C when the particles are humidified in environment of relative humidity of 80%, is 0 to 20 Joule/g. The thermosetting resin is formed by crosslinking a phenoxy resin and its deriv. with multifunctional isocyanate.
